For our homework we had to write  diary piece as if we were soldier from world war 1.

Lance Bunker’s pager went off alerting him of two missing people in the Manukau Harbor it was after 5pm 26 of April and he had just finished work for that day. He drove straight to Bottle Top Bay in Karaka to join the rescue mission with papakura coast guards

The alert was raised after a 12 foot aluminium boat was found adrift on high tide. Then later a man and eight year old girl were reported to have been missing. Bunker and more than 20 other volunteers from waiuku. The alert was raised after a 12 foot aluminium boat was found adrift on high tide. Bunker and more than 20 other volunteers from waiuku and titirangi, took part in the 24 hour search for the missing people.  4 vessels and 1 coast guard air patrol plane based at Armored where they all were launched and a police hovercraft was released there as well. Crash rescue also took part in the search. A large boat had gone out and found the girl around 7:30pm where she was found where she had been bravely treading water.

The vessel the pair were found in was discovered Thursday afternoon but the man was not found investigators are not sure if the pair were wearing life jackets that is still to be determined. There were about 25 volunteers and 30-40 call outs every year. Later on the father was found dead a very depressing situation but at least the girl was found before it was to late.
